ABOUT NATIONAL CINEMA DAY

This Saturday 2nd September, participating cinemas across Ireland have come together to celebrate National Cinema Day by offering cinemagoers tickets for just €4!

This exciting initiative, supported by Screen Ireland, builds on the triumph of last year's event, which saw a whopping 200,000 admissions in a single day.

Almost every cinema in Ireland (an impressive 99% of them!) will be part of the action, showcasing a diverse range of new and recent releases. From crowd-pleasing family favorites to the latest hits, there's something for everyone, especially as schools reopen.

This event isn't just about movies – it's a celebration of the rich tradition of cinema-going in Irish culture, arriving on the heels of a highly successful summer for the industry.

Lee Cronin, the highest grossing Irish filmmaker at the global box office this year with Evil Dead Rise, said "There's nothing like the magic of going to the movies. The shared communal experience of enjoying films as they were meant to be seen – on the big screen with a captive audience, is one of my favourite things to do. I'm really looking forward to celebrating National Cinema Day by catching as many films as I can, and re-watching some of the great movies I've already enjoyed at the cinema this year."
